Conference Day 1:  Beyond the Basics

Whether you are a new user or have been using Excel for a few years, "Beyond the Basics" is for you. Like most of us regular users of Excel, you may have the feeling you are using only a fraction of the full power Excel can offer. "Beyond the Basics" is designed to take the average user to the next level. All of the sessions will provide proven tips and strategies to make you more productive from Excel experts, including Microsoft Excel MVPs, who share their knowledge regularly in various online forums.

Beyond the Basics will put you on the road to a place where Microsoft Excel starts working for you instead of you working with the spreadsheet.

Conference Day 2:  Advance to the Next Level

If you have mastered most features of Excel and want to start pushing Excel to the max, then "Advance to the Next Level" is for you. Most users find the more they learn about Excel, the more there is to learn. These sessions are designed to sharpen your skills and introduce you to some of Excels more advanced features and functionality.

You will see demonstrations that will illustrate many of the tools and strategies to develop applications.  Most of the session leaders are professional full time independent Excel developers.

This session is for those who use Excel for work in any technical field including support staff. You do not need to be an Einstein or an Edison, just someone who liked (or, at least, was competent at) high school math.

We will work with Excel 2003. Various topics will be explored: getting true exponents (such as 2.5 × 10-6) on chart axes; engineering notation (exponents that are multiples of 3); have LINEST fit polynomials; using the matrix functions to solve systems of equations (structural analysis, analysis of electric circuits, etc); using Solver to fit data to functions more complex than Add Trendline allows; modelling; finding the area under a curve (aka numerical integration); user-defined functions ...

The presenter will have a range of topics to talk about but will involve the audience in the final selection. Bring questions, bring Excel files and bring your laptop if you want to be interactive.
